BeschlussManager

Digital sovereignty

Built in Europe, operated in Germany

“Hosted in Europe” now appears on many websites. Usually it means a data centre in Ireland, operated by a corporation in California. This page says what it means at Beschlussmanager – and how you can check it.

Operation

STRATO AG, Germany. Servers in German data centres.

Processing chain

Exclusively companies based in the EU. No transfer to third countries.

This website

No foreign domain is loaded – no fonts, no maps, no CDN.

The difference

Location is not the same as access

The US CLOUD Act of 2018 obliges companies with a US nexus to hand over data they control, regardless of where the servers are. An EU data centre changes nothing about that obligation as long as the parent company is American.

For a board this is not an academic question. A resolution records who voted how, who opposed the fee increase, and how a decision about an employee was taken.

Beschlussmanager has solved that question by not having it: no US company is involved.

Check it yourself

Where is the server?

dig +short www.beschlussmanager.de

The address belongs to STRATO AG’s network in Germany.

Which domains does the page load?

Open developer tools, the Network tab, reload the page. Only www.beschlussmanager.de should appear. That check turns out differently on most websites that advertise privacy.

Common questions

Is a US provider with an EU data centre not enough?

For the physical location yes, for the access situation not necessarily. The US CLOUD Act obliges US companies to hand over data they control, regardless of the country the servers sit in. A European data centre belonging to a US corporation does not solve that. Which is exactly why no US company is in Beschlussmanager’s chain.

Who are your sub-processors?

The hosting provider STRATO AG (Germany) and the service used to send email. Both are based in the EU. The current list is part of the data processing agreement; it does not change quietly.

Does this website use a CDN?

No. The page is served directly from the server in Germany, fonts and images included. A US provider in front of a site that advertises European hosting would be exactly the contradiction we hold against others.

Is “made in Europe” more than marketing?

It is checkable on three points: servers in Germany, no third-party scripts on this site, EU companies in the processing chain. You can verify the first two yourself – the location through a DNS lookup, the scripts through your browser’s developer tools.
